Well there is.. Do some full contact sparring so you know how it feels to take a hit.If you not used to take a hit then you will prob be in trouble. ;o)

Maybe for a person that doesnt know anything about martial arts there isnt a defence, but of course someone how knows there is!not only one can does this as in the video but he can also block it but also dodge it like boxer do, diving down and going to the side.

keep up the good work even if someone isnt martially trained maybe watching your vids might stop someone getting beaten up mugged! but i still maintain attitude is 80% of the battle

he is also teaching how to deflect a punch with the blade of your forearm. Yes if someone does happen to hit you unnoticed you have to remain calm, regain balance, adjust your positioning and be ready.

unless you have the reaction time of a fly you will not be able to block a punch from behind you or from a blind spot, you simply have to be aware of your surroundings.. here in this video fred is teaching you a drill that teaches you how to use leverage and bone structure to cause a balance distruption effecting your opponents posture
